Eurogamer.net recently ran a story titled “Xbox 360 Cloud Storage Now Live.” As you can see in the screenshot, they have pulled the article down, but not before being indexed by Google, Technorati, and other sites. If you search for Xbox 360 Cloud Storage, there’s a good chance you will come across this lovely 404 page.
While the Xbox 360 cloud storage isn’t quite available for use yet, it is being anticipated by others besides Eurogamer. The cloud feature will allow gamers to save their gaming data (which reportedly will include information about played games, achievements, friends lists, Microsoft points balances, and more) remotely, protecting against data loss in case of console failure and allowing gamertags to be quickly accessed from other consoles.
The Xbox 360 Cloud Storage service will help Microsoft keep up with the PlayStation Network, which has been providing a cloud service to PSN users since March, however Nintendo is still without a comparable service. Xbox’s Cloud Storage is reportedly set for release concurrent with an update to the Xbox 360 interface sometime in the next few months.
