The first day of the new month, and we’ve got two new War Games Daily challenges and a refreshed War Games Monthly challenge. Check out how to get these Halo 4 challenges after the break.
Spray and Pray (1250 XP)
“Get 15 kills with an Automatic Loadout Weapon.”
You can’t get this achievement with a precision weapon, so SWAT is out. You can’t get it with a Shotgun, Magnum, or zombie arm either, so Flood is out too. You can play either Infinity Slayer or Big Team Infinity Slayer, but in both of these game types many of your opponents will be fighting with DMRs or Battle Rifles from afar, especially in Big Team. Similar to the Drop Bears! challenge we covered yesterday, some of the best game types to get this challenge are the objective-based games. Again, FFA Throwback is a good choice because everyone is a target, and you can pick up a lot of kills when players have already been weakened by other players.
The challenge specifies Loadout Weapons, so you can’t expect to get this challenge with a SAW or some other Ordinance Weapon. You have to use the Assault Rifle, the Storm Rifle, or the Suppressor.
Exterminate! Exterminate! (2700 XP)
“Kill every member of the opposing team at least once in a match.”
Though you can get this challenge in any team match, it’s easiest to get it on the smaller game types: the fewer players on the opposing team, the better. SWAT is a prime choice because there can be as few as three players per team, and the maps are relatively small. The odds of you being able to kill every player are much higher in this game type. But if you aren’t good at SWAT, then you can stick to Infinity Slayer.
War Games Monthly: To the Victor Go the Spoils (15000 XP)
“Win 70 matchmaking War Games matches.”
Just like last month, the monthly challenge for December is sheer numbers. Pick your favorite game type and go to town.
If you’re really trying to power through this challenge, you need to factor in not only your skill level for each game type, but also how long each game takes. The bigger games like Big Team Infinity Slayer and some of the objective games like Capture the Flag can go on for a very long time. Smaller games like Infinity Slayer or SWAT are usually much shorter. If you can pull out some wins on the smaller games, you will be able to get this challenge in a shorter amount of game time than if you stick to the big game types.
Another important note about this challenge is that your odds are better on a team game than in a free-for-all game. In a team game, your odds are 50/50 that you’ll win. In a free-for-all situation, you are one of a group of potential winners.
After you get the War Games Daily challenges out of the way, you still have time to work on the War Games Weekly challenges: “Threading the Needle” and “To Be Precise.” These expire at the end of the day Sunday.
I’ll be back tomorrow with tips on Sunday’s daily challenges. Until then, happy gaming.
