The PlayStation Network has never been great, but this is a bit ridiculous. We are approaching a full week of the network being down with no word of an estimated time of repair. It’s so bad that some are calling it the “Great PSN Outage of 2011.” The duration of this event is certainly longer, but it still harkens back to the crisis with the system clock back in 2010, fondly dubbed the “ApocalyPS3.” For those who are at a loss without their PlayStation Network, please review these ideas written in response to that previous debacle.
I will be on Xbox Live until this blows over. The experience has always been better over there anyway. You get what you pay for. What more can you expect from a free service such as the PlayStation Network? This is nothing more than the most recent failure in a string of other embarrassing situations with the PS3, including but not limited to the glitchy trophy system, the ApocalyPS3, legal overkill, and now a complete network failure.
