There are many reasons that I love Amazon; this is just one more reason to add to the list.
You want to Make Money Blogging
So, you have a blog (or are planning on having one). That’s great. Now, unless you’ve figured out some secret to internet success that the rest of the blogosphere hasn’t discovered yet, you’re probably trying to figure out how to monetize your blog–that is, how to get some sort of income for all your brilliant thoughts and the hard work you put into it.
Money-Making Advice
There are articles all over the internet, giving advice with varying amounts of accuracy, that will tell you how to make money with your blog. Indeed, there are many methods, and a combination of revenue streams will probably serve you best. That being said, I’d like to share a method that I’ve recently discovered.
Amazon Sells Blog Subscriptions
The Amazon Kindle is arguably the most powerful player in the eBook reader market right now, and Amazon does a wonderful job of squeezing as much profit out of it as possible. In addition to its obvious function (i.e. displaying eBooks), the Kindle can also handle RSS feeds. Amazon is using this functionality to garner even more income through blog subscriptions. For $1.99 a month (per blog), Kindle owners can subscribe to their favorite blogs and have the content delivered to their Kindle for easy consumption.
Bloggers Share Profits
In return for providing your content for resale in the Amazon Kindle market, Amazon will give you 30% of the subscription fees associated with your blog (or blogs; you can offer multiple). Since it is free to sign up, the potential for added readership plus some additional income makes this service very attractive to bloggers.
